From Calabria to Sardinia, Sicily to Lazio, going through Apulia…  Punctuated by the lyre tones, by the flutes and by the zampogna (calabrian bagpipes), polyphonies of the quatuor  brought by Xavier Rebut, take us to the great Italian south to meet characters, landscapes, stories and multiple sound universes.

Xavier Rebut here is surrounded byGermana Mastropasqua, Michele Manca (vocal) andDavide Ambrogio (Vocal, lyre, flute and calabrian zampogna, guitar).

Xavier Rebut was born in Geneva. Roman from adoption, after living 21 years in Italy, he settles in Arles in 2015. As a singer, compositor, comedian, an overall director and pedagogue, his researchs on voices and the italian oral traditional music are the root of a musical and theatrical step. He sings and writes for various musical bands especially the vocal quatuor Quartetto Urbano and as a duo with Germana Mastropasqua. For their latest creation, La Buonasera, the duo has surrounded itself with René Villermy (guitar), Maïel Clairefond (basse) and Anne-Sophie Chamayou (violin). Following his encounter with Giovanna Marini en 1993, Xavier has worked by her side and conceived, over the years, a musical and artistic collaboration all the way to 2015, taking part to her researchs on the traditional song and to a several of her creations.  
An artist in residence in the Conservatoire de Musique du Pays d’Arles since 2015 as a duo with Germana Mastropasqua. He leaded in particular, nearby a young public, adults and seniors, theProtest Songs (2016) project coproduced by the SUDS, in ARLES and the Conservatoire. It is also in the framework of this residence that he creates Miezz’ô mare (2017), SolS (2018) and Le Grand Bal (2019).
Picked out by Françoise  Degeorges, producer of Ocora-Couleurs du Monde on France Musique, Ô Sud ! , will be shown for the first time during the festival Les Suds in winter, after a residence at La Grande Boutique / LE PLANCHER in Britain with a concert-step of creation at l’Espace Glenmor in Carhaix, and a residence and concert-step of creation at the Centre Culturel Anima at Prunelli di Fium’Orbu in Corsica.
