MAURA GUERRERA
Originally from Messina in Sicily, Maura Guerrera became familiar with Sicilian music in 1996, with musicians tinged with agro-pastoral traditions from the Peloritani Mountains. Throughout her meetings with shepherds, singers and friscalettu players (Reed flute), tammurieddu (sicilian tambourine), marranzanu (harpoon) or ciaramedda a paru (Sicilian bagpipes), she developed a passion for the transmission of this still unrecognized heritage, even in Sicily. Her skills as a teacher have led her to intervene, among others, for Suds’ Cultural Activites and the project "The world in Music ", in the schools of the department of Bouches-du-Rhône.
