From 2nd to the 10th of March, SUDS, in ARLES, puts its winter costume on and extends itself with the CONSERVATOIRE DE MUSIQUE DU PAYS D’ARLES, on the urban community territory ARLES-CRAU-CAMARGUE-MONTAGNETTE and all the way to Fontvieille.
The oppurtunity to (re)-discover some remarkable places of the local patrimony: Tarascon’s castle, churchs from Saint-Pierre de Mézoargues and Boulbon, the cinema- centenaire !- of Fontvieille, Saint-Martin-De-Crau, Arles.
Inside their walls’ll echo the most wonderful musics from here and elsewhere, such as mediterrean chants distilled by the Trio ÂMAN and the 200 schoolchildren from [Chœur Battant], the flambing cords of Antoine Boyer and Samuelito, the kanak rythms of the poet and slammer Paul Wamo, the poignant voice and the inspired piano music of Bachar Mar-Khalifé, the encounter of the koto traveller from Mieko Miyazaki with the shakuhachi flute of Suizan Lagrost, Xavier Rebut.
A wintry parenthesis from Radio des Suds as an on-air platform, and in public mode, as well as the projection of documentary films – Impulso, with the Spanish dancer and choreograph Rocío Molina and The Music Of The Strangers, Yo-Yo Ma & the Silk Road Ensemble – are also in the schedule of this filled week which is firmly rooted on the territory and largely opened around the world.
